Getting Started with Clients and Subscriptions

VPNAG Setup Guide

From account setup to connection checks. Follow the steps in order, get one device working first, then configure your other devices.

Interface labels may vary between operating systems, clients, and versions. This guide refers to features such as “configuration,” “subscription,” and “import” rather than relying on a button’s exact location. For current download options, supported formats, and import instructions, refer to the user dashboard after signing in.

If you already have an active plan, you can skip straight to getting your subscription. This guide covers the essential steps to connect. For regional requirements for AI tools and development environment setup, see the Complete AI Guide.

Account Setup

Create an Account and Sign In

Open the account creation page in the user dashboard and enter a username and password. VPNAG does not require an email address; you’ll use your username and password to sign in. Choose a username that’s easy to recognize and remember. Use a unique password and store it in a trusted password manager. Before submitting, check your input method to avoid accidentally entering spaces or full-width characters.

After submitting, follow the on-screen instructions to open your account overview. If you’re taken back to the sign-in page, use the details you just saved to sign in. When you can see your account overview and the plans section, your account is ready. Account creation and plan activation are separate steps, so don’t create another account if you don’t see subscription details yet. Choose a plan from your current account instead.

If the page says your username is already taken, choose another and try again. If you can’t sign in, check your username, capitalization, and the details saved in your password manager. Don’t share your password or send anyone a screenshot showing the full sign-in page. For help after signing in, use the support ticket section. For other account questions, see the FAQ.

Plans and Orders

Choose a Plan and Place Your Order

After signing in, open the Plans section in the dashboard. First consider how you’ll use the service, then compare the prices and data allowances. Monthly plans suit ongoing use: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Monthly data resets each month on the day your plan starts, not at the beginning of the calendar month. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated based on the remaining days. Check the order details in the dashboard for the exact amount.

If your usage is less frequent, you can also compare data packages: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. They last until used and never expire. Before choosing, check whether you’re viewing a monthly plan or a data package; don’t compare prices without considering how billing works. All plans support unlimited devices, but keep an eye on your account’s available data when using several devices. Video streaming, file transfers, and everyday browsing use different amounts of data.

Once you’ve chosen a plan, check its name, price, and payment method on the order confirmation page, then follow the instructions to pay. VPNAG supports Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Follow the payment instructions currently shown in the dashboard. After paying, return to the dashboard to check the order status, then confirm in the overview that your plan is active. If the order status hasn’t updated yet, refresh it and keep your payment receipt. Don’t pay again until you’ve confirmed the status.

VPNAG offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the Refund Policy for how to request a refund and details about processing. This guide doesn’t specify a trial period or trial data allowance; follow the information shown in your dashboard. Once your plan is active, continue to the client and subscription setup. This helps avoid mistaking a plan status issue for a client problem.

Subscription Setup

Get Your Subscription from the Account Overview

Return to your account overview, check your plan status and available data, then find the subscription section. A subscription link is not a regular website address; it gives your client the configuration needed to access routes. You must be signed in and have an active plan to download a client or get your subscription. If the dashboard says your plan isn’t active or your order needs attention, resolve that first before importing.

If the dashboard offers one-click import, make sure the client you want to use is installed, then choose the matching import option. Your browser may ask whether to open an external app. Check the app name and allow it to open, then save the configuration in the client. If the client doesn’t launch, copy the subscription link instead of repeatedly clicking the same import button.

To import manually, use the copy option in the dashboard, then paste the link into the subscription or remote configuration section of your client. Don’t edit any characters in the link or paste the website homepage into a subscription field. You don’t need to assemble an address yourself; the dashboard provides the content for your account. If the client asks you to choose a configuration format, follow the dashboard instructions for that client. Don’t assume different apps use interchangeable subscription formats.

Treat your subscription link as private account information. Don’t post it in public forums or share screenshots that show the full link or QR code. VPNAG’s privacy messaging is anonymous, no-logs service; this doesn’t replace keeping your device and account secure. If an import fails, describe the client, operating system, and error message. If you need to send a screenshot, hide the subscription details. Once you’ve copied the link, continue to the section for your platform.

Configure Each Device

Install a Client and Import Your Subscription

After signing in to the dashboard, open the downloads section and get the compatible client and import instructions for your device. You need a network client that can read remote subscriptions, not a browser extension or a general-purpose download tool. This guide doesn’t provide installers or direct subscription links, and it doesn’t specify versions that haven’t been confirmed in the dashboard. If you already use another client, check its supported formats first. If you’re unsure, use the combination recommended in the dashboard.

Get the Client

Windows: Add a Remote Configuration

In the downloads section, choose the client for Windows, install it according to the dashboard instructions, and launch it. In the client, open “Configuration” or “Subscription,” then choose the option to add from a link or import a remote configuration. Paste the subscription link copied from your account overview into the address field. You can give it a recognizable local name. Save and update it until the available routes appear in the configuration.

Select the configuration you just imported, then open the routes page and choose an exit route. If the client distinguishes between “configuration loaded” and “system proxy enabled,” check both as instructed. Seeing a list of routes doesn’t mean your browser is using the connection. If Windows requests network permissions, verify the program’s source before approving. For more detailed installation and startup instructions, see Windows Setup from Scratch. For your first session, just complete the connection check below.

macOS: Save Your Subscription and Approve Permissions

Use a desktop subscription client compatible with macOS from the downloads section. Once it’s running, find configuration management, subscription management, or the option to import from a URL. Paste the full address copied from the dashboard, save it, and update the configuration. If you use one-click import, check that the new configuration appears in the client after your browser opens it. Opening the app successfully doesn’t necessarily mean the import is complete.

Select a route from that configuration, then enable the proxy or connect as prompted by the client. The system may ask you to approve network configuration permissions, depending on how the client connects. After approving, check the client status and make sure the menu bar or main window doesn’t still show “Disconnected.” While checking the connection for the first time, pause other proxy tools that manage your network to prevent them from overriding each other’s settings.

Android: Import Your Subscription and Connect

Get an Android-compatible subscription client from the dashboard downloads section. After installing it, open the configuration or subscription page, choose to add a remote subscription, paste the link, and save it. If the app groups scanning, file import, and link import together, choose the link option. Don’t enter the subscription as a local file path. Once the update is complete, open the new configuration and check that the route names appear.

Choose a route and tap the client’s connect control. If the system asks to establish a VPN connection, confirm the request is from the app you just installed and allow it. Return to the client to check the connection status, then open the service you want to use. If the connection drops when you switch to another app, check the system’s background activity restrictions for the client. Follow the system settings instructions; repeatedly importing the subscription won’t fix a background connection issue.

iOS: Add Your Subscription Using the Dashboard Instructions

Open the dashboard downloads section and follow the iOS instructions to get a compatible subscription client from the App Store. Check the dashboard and App Store for the available app and requirements. Once installed, return to the dashboard and try the matching one-click import option first. If you need to add it manually, paste the content provided by the dashboard into the client’s subscription, remote configuration, or Add URL section, then save and update it.

Once the import succeeds, choose a route and connect. The first time you connect, the system may ask permission to add a VPN configuration. Follow the prompt, then return to the client and check its status. Don’t confuse permission to add a system configuration with sign-in authorization for a website: the former enables your device’s connection, while the latter is part of the service’s own account process. If the client can’t read the subscription, check the format and dashboard instructions rather than looking for a link from an unknown source.

Other Devices and Future Updates

VPNAG also supports Linux; the relevant download is available in the dashboard. Unlimited devices means you can configure your own devices using the same steps, not share your subscription publicly. Check the import and connection status on each device. A working connection on one device doesn’t confirm that another device has the right permissions, configuration, or proxy settings. To update your routes later, update the subscription in your existing configuration. You usually won’t need to create another account.

Final Checks

Choose a Route and Verify Your Connection

After the subscription updates successfully, choose an exit route that matches the region requirements of the service you want to use. For your first connection, stick with one route to verify that everything works. Don’t change the client, region, and connection mode at the same time. Available route types and options are shown in the dashboard. For details on IEPL dedicated lines, relay routes, and direct connections, see Global Routes. A particular route type won’t necessarily perform better in every situation.

After connecting, check that the client shows an active connection and that any required system proxy or connection permissions are enabled. Open the website you want to use and check that it loads, then try a real action, such as sending an AI prompt or starting playback. Continuous output and actual playback are better indicators than simply seeing the homepage. Success with one website doesn’t guarantee the same results for every regional service.

If the service says your region isn’t supported, first check whether your chosen exit region is within its supported areas, then review your account region and service eligibility. A network connection doesn’t change your service subscription benefits or replace its terms of use. AI websites, APIs, and editor plugins may each use different network settings. Access in a browser doesn’t mean the command line or a plugin will use the same connection automatically. For help configuring these setups, see the Complete AI Guide.

If you still can’t access the service, check these items in order: your plan is active, the subscription updated successfully, the right configuration is selected, system permissions are granted, and no other proxy tools are running. Once you’ve checked the basics, try another route that meets the service’s regional requirements. Change one setting at a time and check the result before moving on, so you can identify the cause.

Once you’ve verified your connection, note the configuration name and exit region you’re using so you can connect from the same place next time. For troubleshooting, see the FAQ. If you still need help, open a ticket in the dashboard support center and include your operating system, client, selected region, steps taken, and any error messages. Keep relevant context, but hide your password and subscription details to make it easier to help.

You’re ready when your plan is active, your subscription updates, your client connects, and you can complete an action in the service you want to use. Adjust routes and app settings for your needs afterward; you don’t need to configure every advanced option before connecting for the first time.
